MCBRANDO presents for the first time online the full 6 min. version of Ignored Innocence, a shortfilm by Michel Thysen.
Ignored Innocence was shot in 1996 on 16mm. in Sofia-Bulgaria. Written, produced, and produced by Michel Thysen. The screenplay was inspired by a photograph of Jan Saudek, the Czech Master.
Ignored Innocence is a personal interpretation of a picture, showing a girl in a sweet dress looking into a gold framed mirror, reflecting a naked body of a grown up woman. A contrast between innocence and lust.
There are no dialogues, as I wanted to maintain the possibility to create different interpretations, just as Jan Saudek’s pictures do.
The original music is written by Filip Vandueren, a Belgian producer known for his work as K-Lab and Milk inc.
Although we increased the grain effect on the film version to obtain a 'blurry' Saudek effect, we must admit that we lost some quality in the processes to digitalize the film in the step from film to Betacam SP(done in 1996). Other quality losses are reduced to a minimum.
